TODA OF PAMPLONA: THE MATCHMAKER QUEEN


Toda Aznárez  or Toda de Pamplona
was one of the most important queens of Christian Spain that for centuries coexisted with Muslim Spain. 
Daughter of a noble family and married to the king of Pamplona, ​​she played a key role during the reigns of her husband and her son. She worked on strengthening the Jimena dynasty. For this, she did not hesitate to travel for much of his life through the Christian territories and Al-Andalus to close marriage agreements for his descendants and establish political alliances with the kingdom of Abderramán III.
